I will die someday but today is not going to be that day
The toil feels eternal, the pain immortal for it dies not
Yesterday I was a nobody fathered by a fellow nobody
Hoping for today to bring a new prefix; the tag 'former'
Instead the unruly day brings along its own suffix: 'still'
I have learnt though; we toil not in vain only in pain.
For I am told my day awaits me and not vice versa
These things we hear, these scenes we see and live
They are the kettle of dreams but life's water boils not
A match or flaming tinder? Give me fire or give me death
So yes I will die someday but Heaven no, not today.
